I'm happily well out of the atheist closet. A non-militant, I get no flak from the believers I know. They know I would metaphorically boil and eat them.
I want to hear from non-believers of varied ages and keep up with current happenings.

Why you left your religion.
Well-meaning parents with limited horizons because they'd grown up during the 1930s Depression told me I was going to college because I was too lazy to get a job. I tossed them and their religion from my life. I later realized that 12 years in Catholic schools had made a traumatic departure necessary.
