I was raised as a Southern Baptist. I don't think I ever truly believed in God. I thought a lot of it was a fanciful story as a kid. And then, as I learned more through Bible study, I could not forgive the brutal teachings of intolerance that the Church espoused. I separated from the church completely as soon as I left my home. At 30 now, my mother is displeased with my secular thinking. I even had to go as far as unfriending my own mother from Facebook so that she did not attack my shared links on a daily basis.
I'm an artist and a dreamer. I'm no one great but I aspire to greatness.
In a Relationship
Why are you here?
I'm here to find friendships. I live in a small town that it is the norm that when you meet someone they invite you to their church. Of over 4 years of living here I still have no friends, which is a still sobering thought for me.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
The intolerance the church preached did not help but my complete shattering came through self awareness and higher education. I am always seeking truth.
