Simon Mathews replied to Dr. Bob's discussion 'Does Secularism make things worse?'
"I'm very sad to hear that. I think the Greeks have the right idea. Everyone attends church so they can have a good catch up and a gossip. The rest of the time they pay attention to whichever Christian dictates they feel are appropriate (in…"

Simon Mathews replied to Dr. Bob's discussion 'Does Secularism make things worse?'
"There were a lot of references in this article to things like "people who stopped attending church felt less happy and more socially isolated", that sort of thing. It's hardly surprising if the church was their main social circle.…"

Simon Mathews replied to John Smith's discussion 'Why are atheists & humanists still behind religions in caring for the socially excluded?'
"Hi John, An interesting topic and one that is often used as an argument in favour of religion. My own personal viewpoint is this (but I cannot prove it, I'm afraid). (*Disclaimer: this scenario is just to illustrate my point so please could…"

Simon Mathews replied to Belle Rose's discussion 'What would you consider evidence?'
""I percieve that very characteristic of logic to exist because God will not allow His logic to disprove Himself." Ha ha... nice one. Very convenient. Your second question is a typical one I hear not only from religious people but anyone…"

Simon Mathews replied to Belle Rose's discussion 'Suicide prevention'

Simon Mathews replied to Belle Rose's discussion 'What would you consider evidence?'

Simon Mathews replied to Belle Rose's discussion 'What would you consider evidence?'
"Gregg, I don't quite understand this. The things you've listed are examples of things we don't currently know how to explain (although some of them we do have some inklings and are working on it). When we don't know how to…"
