One of the things I have often thought is an albatross around the neck of most religions are their holy books. Don't most Christians these days, for example, get tired of having the more ridiculous…Continue

Simon Mathews replied to Unseen's discussion 'Drugs and alcohol; rape and consent'
"You've just described two drunk adults having sex (probably very badly), not rape. Doesn't rape mean he had to impose himself by force because she was resisting (or unconscious)?"

Simon Mathews replied to Unseen's discussion 'Drugs and alcohol; rape and consent'
"I see what you mean now but there is an important difference between the two actions - particularly in the context of being very drunk. Not giving consent is actually inaction - maybe the woman is just too out of it to take any recognisable action.…"

Yeah, years ago I got through most of it. Getting lazy in my retirement :-) Once I answered my own questions I started living as if the whole world of philosophy, religion, and beliefs no longer existed. It's been peaceful. Not sure now whether I really want think that hard again. We shall see.

Thanks for the suggestion, always appreciated.
