It's all Greek to me

My fiance is Greek Orthodox and, understandably, she wants to get married in her Greek church. Unfortunately, the church will not allow it because I am not Greek Orthodox.

I am of the opinion they are shooting themselves in the foot here because, again understandably, this has upset my fiance and as a result she is now distancing herself from the church. Yeah, years ago I got through most of it. Getting lazy in my retirement :-) Once I answered my own questions I started living as if the whole world of philosophy, religion, and beliefs no longer existed. It's been peaceful. Not sure now whether I really want think that hard again. We shall see.
