About Me:

I'm a 21-year-old undergraduate Journalism student at Cardiff University, planning to do my journalism training in the next year or two. I'm a bit of a news junkie, and hopeless with popular music because all I listen to is Radio 4. Although I'm a bit of a current affairs queen, I'm not very serious or boring.. I have a very active social life, I like getting drunk and partying with my friends, and surfing and snowboarding are my sports of choice. I'm also described as a 'foodie' by my friends; I love eating out, but I'm very fussy with where I eat, and I'm not easily impressed by a menu. I eat at Michelin Star restaurants as often as I can - the dream is to one day be a restaurant critic, and hopefully my career as a journalist will open some doors.

Why are you here?

I am here to administer research as part of my undergraduate degree into how atheists benefit and use social media. Why you left your religion.

My family are 'Christians' but are only religious in as much as I was christened and my parents were married in church. I always sort of believed as we were made to pray in school every day, my parents would talk of relatives or dead family pets being in heaven etc.
My best friend, when I started secondary school (high school), was a hardcore Christian with a very church-orientated family - one of those 'cool' 'hip' churches. I went along to the Youth club.. and basically my best friend, her family and youth workers started to groom me into becoming a 'proper' Christian. I was having a hard time at school, so was easily led at first, but luckily I have a head on my shoulders. I started to worry about God watching me in the shower, watching me if I did anything wrong. If I swore my best friend would say 'God doesn't like it when you do that', as a form of blackmail... until one day I flipped. And told her to f*** off and here I am!!
