- I left my religion five years ago when my son was attending confirmation classes and was asking a lot of questions about God and why we believe. I realized that I didn't have the answers because I really didnt know. That's when I decided to be true to myself and my family and admit my skeptism. We all decided that we would each follow our own path in discovering our beliefs and spirituality.
I think I left my religion in my mind many years beore then and didn't know it. I love science and could not grasp the creationists' view. I never liked having the fear of God placed on me, never enjoyed confirmation, mass, praying, and the idea that my dead relatives are watching over me. Just too creepy.
