I know that most atheists tend to be liberals and most liberals who tend to be to the extreme left tend to view U.S. foreign policy as a source of malevolence rather than benevolence in the world.…Continue

Oh- and I was born in the US, my parents moved to the US a few years before I was born and we've been here ever since. What about you?
Thanks dude :) I'm not sure that my name has a "meaning" but I do know that it is the name of a holy river in northern India where a mythological God was born. Given the religious connotation of my name, I guess it's rather ironic that I'm on an atheist forum... :)
Do you have any idea why your parents named you Sassan?
Oh mannn, this is going to make me sound like such a geek! Actually my username is just my nickname which my friend gave me after the Pokemon Charzard:

My actually name is Sharayu and my parents are Hindu. But you are absolutely correct about the name Shahrzad being Iranian/Persian, I remember it from the One Thousand and One Nights stories I read a few years ago.

What does your name mean Sassan?
Nope, my parents are from India.
I'm assuming you're Iranian based on your "About Me" section. That seems like your trip to Iran was a life changing trip. Cool story.
I've DLed it, but currently don't have enough time to start watching it. Especially since Top Gear and True Blood has started back up ;)
Can't say I have, but I'm going to see if i can't d/l it. :) I'm generally not a fan of US "clandestine" shows like 24 and the ilk, they are a bit unrealistic..
You should check out the BBC shows "Spooks" and the Swedish author Jan Guillou's series if you like realism.
Sassan. Nice to meet you!
