About Me:
I'm a happy camper. :) 20 years old, studying nutrition and entrepreneurship. I live in the heart of the Bible Belt and I can't wait to get away! :D

I'm also trying to blog my way through coming out as an atheist to my friends and family. If you'd like to follow my progress, check it out here: http://tsbelle.blogspot.com
Why are you here?
I'm relatively new to atheism; I left Christianity not too long ago and I'm really starved for some like-minded friends. Louisiana isn't a great place to be an atheist haha.

Since I finally came to the conclusion that I'm an atheist, I've had to do some tough things. Until last night my boyfriend was the only person who knew, but I sent my (hardcore Christian) best friend a facebook message (because I'm too much of a chicken to tell him…

The critical question for our generation--and for every generation--is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ was not there?

So the post I made in the "Coming Out Godless" group got a lot of awesome feedback.... that's super cool. :) I feel like I've found a great place to talk to people about this stuff.

Since it's the beginning of the quarter and I'm not totally bogged down with schoolwork yet, I've started doing some pretty heavy research. It's kind of difficult to know where to begin, so I'm starting with some of the names/books/videos/etc that people mentioned in the comments on my first…
