Profile Information

Your Religious Status
Atheist, Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic, Buddhism
About Me:
Before you jump down my throat, I do not believe that Buddhism is a religion as much as a way of life. There are no commandments and it is up for debate whether or not there is even a deity; get at me with any proof otherwise. Overall, I am an anti-theist. Meaning that I see no benefit to any religion that could not be gained without it. Furthermore, there are detriments to religion that would be nonexistent if there weren't any. I'm sorry that I'm not sorry.
The religion you left
Christian, Catholic
Why you left your religion.
I was never a part of a religion; my parents grandfathered me in. I always knew it was weird; it made me feel like a member of the KKK. I never even thought that there was an alternative until I was about 15, after my confirmation into the Catholic church. I denounce everything that religion stands for and what it has done to people especially women and children. I believe that forcing a child into a religion before a certain age is a form of child abuse and endangerment.

I am getting fed up with the hypocrisy brought forth by believers onto atheists and non-believers.  In the same breath we will be called self-righteous AND self-loathing.  I literally was engaged in a debate with another one of 'god's children' (the one in the bible) and he told me that I don't believe in (his)god because I hate myself and don't feel worthy of his light.  He then went on to tell me, "It's OK though...he loves you. Come back to him before it's too late." as if getting into…
