"So sorry to hear it. It seems so many people are just barely making it now... it sucks!
You & your mom have each other, and being with someone you love is all the Christmas anyone really needs. My daughter will spend the day with her dad, his…"
It's the South, and the fundies have been hard at work for 30 years now so this doesn't surprise me. Censorship of metal music is what motivated me into activism back in the 80s; it's the reason I know as much about…"

"Congratulations! I've got great-nieces and nephews now. I'm the "Wicked Auntie," which means they talk to me about things they can't discuss with their parents, which is fine by me :) Someone's got to school them in…"
"Always good to read how people come to change their way of thinking. Thanks for posting it.

The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
My "leaving" was a process that took nearly 30 years of life as a "spiritual hobo" who left one after another religious group in progression from Catholic to "non-denominational" Christian, to pagan and finally to the realization that I can still love all the stories without pretending gods, demons or any other superstitious nonsense actually exists.
My being an unbeliever isn't something I choose. My intellect gets in the way of my ability to have faith in any gods, much less the God that's been shoved down my throat for my entire life simply by living in America.
