Writer/artist, coping with lifelong issues, adhd from childhood traumatic stress. Grown up with an alcoholic mother, and abused in an orphanage at 5, my father having died before I was a year old.
Why are you here?
Finding people who can in some way relate to such issues is important to me. Art and science and film are my life.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
Very complicated process, at least from my pov. Though I grew up as a diehard "believer" I was also in the habit of asking myself questions. Once I was on my own after the age of 20, struggling in Los Angeles against new experiences demanding personal growth, I stood back more and more asking why I believe this and that. To truncate a long story, in a few years I became agnostic and by a few later, a full-fledged, unabashed Atheist. Having been a great follower of people like Carl Sagan, and these days Neil deGrasse Tyson, provided a strong focal point, as both a scientific compass and a moral one.
