Squeaky Bum Time

The term comes from the world of English soccer and refers to the final stages of a competition when it is still all to play for and the tension prevents anyone from relaxing in their seats.

I have followed the U.S. election…

Fun with Fundamentalists

Posted on July 16, 2016 at 2:00pm 14 Comments

Every few months for the last 8 years I get a visit from 2 or 3 Jehovah Witnesses. One of them is the same guy from day one and he likes to bring the “new recruits” along so that they “see a real live atheist”. He thinks that he is teaching them debating skills and I will give him some credit for that. He is rather good at it but not quite a W.L. Posted on November 25, 2015 at 4:00pm 27 Comments

Are you a theist that would like me to convert to your religion? I will happily become a Christian or a Muslim if you can describe your God to me and offer me some objective evidence as to why I should trust what you are telling me to be true.

When I say “evidence” I mean even a tiny scrap of something that is tangible, that exists outside of your mind. I am not asking for, or even expecting any “Proofs”. Just something I could later build upon as my understanding of your (my) God…

Thank you for the welcome. Your avatar is very interesting also. I am looking forward to getting familiar with the site and what seems to be very interesting people. BTW ... I am now Hera. :)  My actual name is somewhat ironic since the reason it was given to me was because my mother made a promise to the Virgin Mary. Life is funny.
