The Theory of Evolution and the Biblical account of Creation - are they compatible?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Lewal Dec 13, 2012. 89 Replies

There is much debate as to whether Science and Religion are compatible and in particular can Evolution and the Biblical creation account co-exist as valid worldviews or does one negate the other.  As…Continue

Understanding the Truth

Scientists keep changing their minds. What they say is True one day is not the next because they discover something new the next day. Therefore they might never find the Truth. However Jehovah is the…Continue

Is it just me or has there been a sudden increase in the ravings of Theists recently? I am meeting a lot more of them who seem to be stranger than usual with their evangelical outbursts. Even here…Continue

"Hi Robert – the fact that the religious demand to be respected says it all. They claim Faith is a virtue and therefore we must somehow automatically respect them for that.  Therefore I do not respect it. Blasphemy of religion in public?…"

The Guessing Game

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

Here is a very good lecture hosted by Brian Cox. It gives a very good explanation of how the Universe works. It also explains how Science and the Scientific Method work.  The lecture was hosted before the discovery of the Higgs particle but that does not take from it as it only emphasises how the scientific method really does works.  It covers quantum mechanics and Relativity in easy terms. Allow an hour to watch. Time well spent.…

A lame excuse for a Christian apologetic.

Posted on March 1, 2013 at 5:46pm 17 Comments

I have over the last few years steadily lost respect for William Lane Craig as an apologist. His voice grates on my ears more and more. His willingness to accept genocide as acceptable because his god commanded it is pathetic and I have shook my head in bewilderment at the acceptance such statements get from his herd of followers. So when I saw this video I said to myself “Don’t do it man, you will only get annoyed”. Of…

Sometimes you think about something and then keep noticing it popping up everywhere. So anyway I was recently pondering in a not to serious manner if there were any links between Atheism and fitness and in particular obesity. Then I heard a DJ on a radio talk show comment that it was quite likely that Atheists were unfit and overweight because they probably have not much concern about the future. You know the way we don’t have a positive outlook on life because we are so miserable all the…

Thanks Reg, I sort of expect os's and their peripherals to do that shit automatically, they seem to ask often enough. I'll try that. Can't wait for the day of a centrally organised atheist, socialist, humanist systems management paradigm to begin.

Reg, You have no idea how much your words mean to me. Thank you from across the miles. Jonas smiled when I told him who you are and he was tickled to be in on our escapade. He thought your name was cool and was impressed that news of his illness had reached Ireland. More than that..he knows There are others who believe he will get well without God. I don't care if he chooses to be converted before he dies just because he is a child and finds it comforting.....but until we get closer to death...if he has a fighting chance....I want him to know it is because of human knowledge, skill and determination Thank you for helping me. I am so grateful. Best regards. Kristin
