El sueño de la razón produce monstruos

Posted on August 4, 2014 at 5:30pm 18 Comments

This is a title of an etching by Francisco Goya. “The Sleep of Reason brings forth Monsters” Christopher Hitchens has the picture on the inside cover of his book “God is not Great”. I only discovered this recently as I have only ever known the book as an audio book. It was a serendipitous discovery for me as I have had those same Spanish words…

We love ice cream.

I’m scared of dreams….

I am walking in a house and then some snipers stand

in a circle around me.

And then

They shoot me!

One shoots me here and one shoots me here

And then one shoots me here.

I remember we used to walk around everywhere

and buy ice cream.

We would eat, shop, go everywhere.

You go past the checkpoints to the market.

You walk that way.

You see crowds of people.

There’s the ice…

Since my account was the only one deleted, out of all TA's members, frankly, it sounds personal. Had they REALLY been smart, they'd have deleted several others, to throw off suspicion.

Thanks, Reg - I've lost all of my PM's, going back nearly five years - photos, information and links offered by friends that I can never replace. Anything you can do would be appreciated. Muhammed has been most kind.

An Irishman coming over here with the Yanks to eat Thanksgiving Bird?  Oh my.  And an atheist in Florida and Georgia no less.  I may have to prep my escape pod in case you create some sort of rogue singularity.

Honestly, I'm quite sympathetic to your quest (windmill tilt?) to beat some sense into our fundamentalist crowd.  They are exasperating, and we have them in droves over here.  Right now they are engaged in the most awful effort to block the adoption of modern science standards in many states.  Blech!
