- The number of limitless interpretations, and religious beliefs evident in the world. And all such believers of these religions have just as much conviction of their own truths as superior without the need for conformation or evidence, even faced with a mirrored level of conviction in others with different beliefs.
The lack of the need for truth seeking regarding these beliefs indicated to me that the theory was very poor. Indeed the very esoteric arguments used to justify religion had no bearing on how to confirm any argument for or against such arguments. Not to mention the level of hypocrisy needed to twist a barbarians moral code to apply to modern day standards is laughable.
Not that I always wished to be religionless. After discovering a rather large vacuum of evidence and lack of credible experiences of something that should be an apparent truth of our world, I sought as much religious philosophy as I could find. Some foundational logic that made certain the existence of a god. Something I just couldn't discover myself.
Then I discovered such amazing rationalists as Bertrand Russell, whose amazing prose laid out the bare details of experience and how one builds a theory of the world. It was because the atheist perspective made the most sense, and religious ones were convoluted and wrought with vague and monumental assumptions that could never be confirmed. Ever since I have been a staunch defender of reason against the encroaching non-sensible assertions of the rationally-immune members of my community.
