- I was raised Christian in the Bible Belt and still deal with the reality of religious oppression on a daily basis. I considered myself agnostic on and off through my late teens and early 20s. I finally stopped going to church when I was 20 and I never looked back. I read the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins when I was 23 along with some other great texts. Then, I realized I was atheist all along, I just needed someone to tell me that it was okay for me to be that way. If I really would put an age on it, I suppose when I started questioning Santa Claus, I started questioning everything.

- I live in the south and there's not very many non-religious people around to talk to. I have to make friends with the religious right because we have some common interests and I divert from religious and political conversations if possible. I simply want somewhere to vent when I'm in a very militant mood.
