Started this discussion. Last reply by Fred Werther Sep 12, 2010. 5 Replies

James Spader explains Scientology in an episode of Boston Legal

"The lines I love most in this scene are: Witness: "And Christians believe Jesus will come back. Are they all nuts?" Shore: "Most." I keep laughing at that moment, no matter how many times I review the scene."

Evangelical Scientists Refute Gravity With New 'Intelligent Falling' Theory

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 10:59am 14 Comments

KANSAS CITY, KS—As the debate over the teaching of evolution in public schools continues, a new controversy over the science curriculum arose Monday in this embattled Midwestern state. Scientists from the Evangelical Center For Faith-Based Reasoning are now asserting that the long-held "theory of gravity" is flawed, and they have responded to it with a new theory of Intelligent Falling.

Relativity too?!

What is wrong with these people? Is it just the idea that science is making them reconsider their cozy little bubble they've created and which they call Universe? Do these people have an agenda to discredit science in every way possible, or is it just the infatuation to prove the smartest people on Earth that they're plain wrong? I just don't get it.

I've found this site, called RelativityChallenge.com, which tries to…

Romania - a Secular Country?

Posted on March 17, 2010 at 9:00am 5 Comments

I live in Romania, Europe and I continue to be amazed by the irrationality that seems to govern this country. The Romanian Constitution stipulates that Romania is a secular state, but it certainly doesn't act as it should.

Let's start with the religion that is being taught in schools. No, not private, faith schools, but public schools. Romania, a secular state, preaches students religion, not for one or two years, but for... twelve. I said "preaches" and not "teaches",…

I became an agnostic atheist when I embraced the power of reason and, more important, the power of nature in its astonishing complexity. If there is something I really believe in, it's that the world is too mysterious and complex for a mind as primitive as our own to fully understand. No supernatural explanation can ever be as beautiful and refreshing as the natural one.

Frater Ravus once said: "Faith does not give you the answers; it just stops you asking the questions.".… Continue

Radu, I took down that blog on the Sea Shepherd. I had it in ScribeFire and worked on it quite a while ago but never went forward with it and finished it. As soon as I logged in to ScribeFire it said that it posted but I didn't see where it had went or I would have deleted it right away. I just don't want to stir the pot that much right now. Thanks for a response though!
