I am a married mother of two and grandmother of five. I am an ex Christian (Baptist)who was raised on a literal interpretation of the Bible. I allowed myself to question my beliefs when I was in my early thirties and began a journey that ended in my becoming an agnostic in that I accept that it cannot be known whether there exists some creative, self aware, energy that could be called a "God." I am an atheist, however, in that I do not accept any definition of God that humans have invented; and I do not think a God is necessary to explain the existence of the universe and whatever life inhabits it.
Why are you here?
As I am surrounded by believers of the more conservative, fundamentalist, sort I would like to be able to talk openly to those who share my views and hopefully to some who have made the same journey out of belief that I have. And, perhaps, I can even be of help to someone who is in the early stages of his or her struggle because I know what they are going through.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
I came to realize that what I believed to be true was, in fact, false.
