"Fringe" - Your Thoughts?

When Fringe first came out, I was excited. I watched it ravenously for the first few seasons. What's even weirder about that is I never liked the X-Files. Fringe excited me because of the sci-fi…Continue

Yoga a Science?

Posted on February 27, 2012 at 3:00pm 7 Comments

Okay. So. I'm currently in my Anthropology of Religion class. The teacher (someone who I'm convinced was an acid-dropping hippy when she was younger... she's rather... erm... "ethereal") brought her Yoga instructors to talk to the class.

First, they talk about spiritual nonsense as if it's fact: "we all know that humans are just spirits experiencing the human condition" and "we know that there are higher realms of understandings". This stuff was proven? Did I miss a memo? Is…

How Would You Answer This?

Ok, that sounds good. Thanks for the discussion so far. But real quick, may I ask you this question: What is the inverse of the statement "I don't believe in God?" Seems there should be an inversely logical conclusion. "I don't believe in God; therefore, inversely, I do believe there is no god." I don't believe x; therefore, I believe in the opposite of x. It sounds like a mathematical equation because it is.

Is this a POE site?  hat is, is it satire, and not real? If it's real, then I'm blocking it from my computer... some of the threads are disgusting. But it absolutely can't be real. If it's an honest POE site, I'd like to join it and try my hand at being a POE...

Hi Nathan. I didn't approve your last blog submission, but only because I believe you would get a better response using the Advice forum we have set up for just such inquiries. I've pasted the content into this message in case you want to do a quick copy and paste into a new discussion in the afore mentioned forum.

If you have any questions, comments or concern, feel free to let me know.

I found you on this site because I was curious how many members left Judaism. It is interesting how atheists of different ex-faiths have kind of had the same experiences.
I live in a very small town In Pennsylvania, So I've never met anyone who was of any other religion but Christianity.

BTW... maybe the reason you can't stay away from the fundie attack forumns is for the same reason that I can't stop arguing with them in a group on religion on facebook [group no longer exists ;_; but I'll find another] - It's because battling them is addictive. Although, one thing you should DEFINITELY know about conservatives and fundies in general, you have to WIN the argument in their minds as well... if they think they've got a draw... then they think that they win. lol
Although... IDK why battling them is addictive when they never give you any indication that you have won, they just shut up... that's how you know you won.

Holy Cow! I met my first Atheist Jew!! :O I had heard of the non-theist Jews but I had never met one before. I have 4 Jewish 2nd cousins, but they're definitely theistic. I myself am former-Christian atheist.
For some odd reason, the other two monotheistic religions do not have an atheistic sect. O.o

You will usually be able to tell if it's me. I have several variations of my internet alias, the most basic one is "Comet." But I will also use "Comet Goddess," "Skycomet," "Skycomet Goddess" or "Skycomet Heretic." - The only other internet alias I use is "IndigoKarin."
So... that couldn't have been me. But if you want me to join fundie bashing with you, I would be honored to do so. ^_^
