A while back, I had a long chat with my niece, trying to explain what I believe is the inevitability of events and the consequent contradiction of the concept of free will.  She puttered off and posted on her page/site/whatever, what was probably a two hour conversation condensed into a short explanation.  I post that here to give the benefit of brevity to anyone who is interested.

Yeah!  Screw conformity!  hahahahahaha!  I've never tried to fit into the "gay role" and guess what? Not only am I fine with that but if I ever did try to be more of a stereotypical gay I think my guy would leave me. hahaha!

I really make no apologies for being "me" and not following the crowd most the time.  I enjoy being me so much I can't imagine changing just to fit in or impress people.  The ones I care about wouldn't be impressed if I changed to impress them.
