Why? I enjoy reading and learning from articles centered around atheistic viewpoints and frustrations. It's nice to know that not everybody in the world is delusional and scared.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
There's no way of knowing whether there is or is not some sort of deity out there, but the likelihood that one/or many DO exist is extremely small. I'm not scared of the unknown and therefore I don't feel the need to adhere to a list of archaic rules and beliefs just for the promise of some sort of heaven. I'm a good/nice person because that's how people should act, not because I'm looking for some reward in the afterlife or to escape damnation. I do not know if there even is an afterlife, for that matter. All I'm certain in is that some day I will die. And I am not afraid. Striving to do "good" things in this life for promise of what will come is something that keeps one from truly experiencing this wonderful and amazing world that we live in.
