Why are you here?
I like thinking through and discussing subjects related to religion, science and reason. I enjoy spirited, but civil discourse on these subjects because it challenges me to check my assumptions about life, the universe, and everything on a frequent basis.

Why you left your religion.
Church doctrine didn't square with other people's religious experience or with reality and history. In fact, it didn't square with what I got out of a thorough reading of the scripture the doctrine was allegedly based on. Specifically, the church's teaching on the nature of salvation and the exclusivity of Christ didn't square with existing scripture.
