- Why are you here?
- For a variety of reasons, I have spent most of my life trying to believe in God in one form or another and, despite sincere attempts, have failed. I have recently concluded that I am, and in fact always have been an Atheist but at last, I have decided to do something about it. Having read the compelling arguments postulated by Dawkins, Hitchens, Dannet and Harris (among others) I have concluded that it is time for Atheists to GET NOISY! I hope to exchange ideas with like minded people and sharpen my own arguments and opinions in discussion and debate. It has been said that co-ordinating Atheists is like 'Herding Cats' but it is also true that Lions live in Prides. I believe that Atheism is on the move and I want a peice of the action.

- My cultural background is Christian and for a while I was involved in a 'born again' Christian church (a sad and fear filled epoch in my life). I have flirted with Islam, Paganism in various forms and finally the likes of Neil Donald Walsh (Conversations With God). Whilst I respect Walsh's Love/Fear philosophy, I see no reason to ascribe it to a supernatural entity and found that, although his core philosophy makes some sense, I just couldn't believe it came from anywhere but his own head!
