Lisa...is that you?...our DAM missing Lisa?...lol

I'm sorry that's right, it was at MSU (duh!). I've come to find (and maybe you will to) that a lot of people aren't really firm believers in their faith. I've met quite a few people who have, when confronted, admitted they really don't believe in their faith, they were more or less just going through the motions because that's how their parents raised them and/or it was deemed a social norm and they never gave it much thought.

I think most (if not all) of my close friends are atheists so there's certainly hope for you to make them. I don't know if your husband is an atheist as well but I would think having him through all of this helps a lot too.

Thanks for the heads up on that book club. Ann Arbor isn't too bad from here, about a half hour drive one way maybe. I'm not sure I'll be able to attend with my schedule but I'll definitely check up on events. I'm in the same boat as you as far as CFI: Grand Rapids is just too far away to be practical unfortunately. If I hear of any happenings around here I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks for dropping by. You're right, we are pretty close to one another. I saw on your blog that you went to Dawkin's lecture at UofM, my friend and I were contemplating going but ultimately ran out of time before we could finalize our plans unfortunately.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost a lot of your friends when you made it known that you are an atheist. Were you a part of a close-knit church community? I've been an atheist for as long as I can remember (despite being raised Christian when I was younger) so I've never really gotten exceptionally close to anybody who wasn't aware of my stance beforehand.
