Why you left your religion.
I was heavily involved in my church. I was an altar boy for 9 years, a Sacristan for 5 years and towards the end I was actively being groomed for the priesthood. Fortunately, by that time I didn't really believe any of it any more. Spending so much time behind the curtain gave me quite a bit of insight into the religious experience.

These were some ideas that I came up with that broke the spell:

"We call their stories myth and ours creed."

"Supernaturalizing the human experience makes it impossible to understand and value humanity's place in the natural environment."

Thanks for sharing those videos! I really like him. Edward Abbey is definitely not a pacifist either and he's a beautiful writer. He's very blunt and brilliant. I know you will enjoy him!

Yes, he is worth reading! He's my favorite author and soul mate if he were still alive. Lol. But read The Monkey Wrench Gang and Desert Solitaire, then move onto others :)
Not sure about Derrick Jensen though.

I'm not familiar with Daniel Quinn. I'll have to look him up. Something in my "about me" make you think of him?
