Im a 17 soon to be 18 year old who goes to college prep in norway. I am half Norwegian and moved here to Norway at a very young age. I have always felt atheism is right for me, because religion does absoulutely nothing for me personal and i cant see the logic in it. I dont find comfort in it, i dont find happiness in it and i put no faith into it. I feel it is nothing but a dividing line between humans and in order for our "species" to move on i feel it is something that cannot be in order for us to be capable of that. Im not saying its wrong to practice it, and im glad people can find some happiness in it. But i find that religion causes more problems than anything else, and i feel that in order to take any step towards world peace and people working together, religion is something we just need to leave behind, and get on with our lives. I am surrounded by relgious people and agnostics, even my girlfriend is a christian which poses some problems... I am tired of people giving credit to something/someone that cannot be proven and something i feel is a waste of time... I think its time to give credit where credit is due. Start having faith in mankind, not give all the credit to something that cannot be proven and is purely illogical.
With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil—that takes religion. ~Steven Weinberg
In a Relationship
Why are you here?
To meet other atheists and maybe people in the same predicament as me.
The religion you left
Was never a part of one
Why you left your religion.
It doesnt make sense to me and does not do anything for me. I feel we would all be better of without any religion.
