Your Religious Status
About Me:
I'm a closet atheist, mainly for fear of persecution. I do not worry about myself as much as I do for my children. While I'm always ready for some good, honest, even heated discourse, I do not choose to thrust hardship upon my children for a cause I have selected.
Why are you here?
I enjoy engaging in open logical discussions in a forum that allows one to disassociate their "feelings" and truly get down to the substance of the argument.
The religion you left
Christian, Judaism
Why you left your religion.
I could no longer go along with the dogma simply because it was the easier route.

Where do I go from here?

My story is not one of becoming an atheist or turning away from religion as a recent event. From a very early age I smelled a rat but was unsure of what exactly was going on. I was sure that my parents, and all the other adults, wouldn’t lie to me. That was nonsense; it had to be. Why would there be this huge conspiracy to confuse one little kid. So I worked arduously over the next several years…

To clarify, I am not questioning my "christianity". I am an atheist. Of that part I am sure. My sore spot in the whole thing is that I went along with it for so long because it was the easier route and that I convinced others to do the same. I am sure of my beliefs; I only feel guilt because I slowed others from shedding their religious oppressors sooner. Now, if asked I speak my true opinion.

If you're questioning your Christianity, the last thing you should do is ask a Pastor. That would be like asking a bartender to open a tab for you if you were an alcoholic trying to give up drinking. Lexy might be very, very confused, but most of the atheists here are certainly not!
