That's very admirable you are wanting…"

Why are you here?
To associate with other non-theists and share thoughts and information.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
I prefer to think for myself. To hope there is a higher power is human, as our minds are always trying to make sense of what we don't understand. When fairy tales and rules, etc. are attached to the hope, well, that's just plain fucked up.

Karin, I hope I haven’t lost the opportunity to get to know you. I had an unbelievably busy week and weekend with a Saturday company picnic and Sunday family reunion. Do you know about The Greensboro Atheist Meetup Group? I went to a Saturday lunch at Red Robin July 17 and met at least a dozen of their members. A few of them were also vegetarian. I have been to only two of their events and enjoyed both, they’re really nice people. I may go to their next lunch August 14 at Zoe’s Kitchen at 1:00 at Friendly Center in Greensboro. The information on the GAO website says they have options for carnivores vegetarian and vegans. If you are interested in going let me know. I could take you or we could meet there.
Check out the website. http://www.meetup.com/herdingcats/ Hope to hear from you soon. Dennis.
Karin, Sorry I left you hanging. I’m having a very busy week. Also I’m not sure about posting on the comment wall. Am I correct that anything posted can be read by anyone and how long will it stay posted? I prefer a more secure venue. If you feel the same e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
