My experience has been that you have to challenge them on salient points that cannot be denied by a child. Christ the King is certainly a huge problem there. Almost everyone that I know that has lost their mind goes to that church. Enjoy the quiet nature if not the rhetoric. I really my parents summer parties up there. Beer, fire, and late middle aged men whom have no idea what they are talking about. We the People... it's a Representative Democracy. You don't get to vote on individual issues.
We've swapped locations then. I'm in Mill Creek but grew up in Custer. Lived in Everson for just under a year. It's scary conservative up there right now. Young Earther Conservative. I have a cousin whom called NPR "too liberal". You aren't alone up there, people are just afraid to speak up for fear of banjos. :-)
