- I was part of a church ministry. I left because nothing fails like prayer. Prayers inability to resolve the simplest of matters in my own life made me feel as though my prayers for starving children in 3rd world countries were ineffective. This caused me to question my beliefs and as I like to say, questioning your religious beliefs is like playing jenga.
