I'm a small business owner, have two young children, and a dumb dog that worships birds and rabbits. I have a bone to pick with a world that can't get beyond its shortsightedness quickly enough to save itself from global warming. I fear the pains my children's generation will suffer due to the effects of global warming, and I see religion as an enormous barrier to technological and educational progress.
Why are you here?
I believe there is perhaps nothing as effective as religion in holding back mankind from achieving great things. And I believe that good education can tip the balance towards science and progress by generating analytic minds capable of escaping the inherent potential to believe in the supernatural.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
I do not belong to those incredible people who escaped religion. I escaped an experimental bout with Christianity, but the foundation had already been laid: though neither of my parents were outspoken on the subject of religion, my father followed science and deemed himself an agnostic, and my mother had somehow, and of her own accord, escaped the powerful grip of Greek Orthodoxy in her youth. Her father was a priest.
