I'm a musician at heart. I play the drums, piano, and sing. I write some music, although that's not all I write - poetry and short stories get written, too.
I enjoy simpler things, although that doesn't mean I don't like excitement. Let's just say that I don't get bored easily - I am content to do little, though I do feel a need to get out and be active on a regular basis.
I love to read and learn. I try and learn as much as I can about whatever I can, whenever and wherever. Some call me a sponge, since I like to 'soak up' knowledge.
There's probably a lot I'm not currently thinking to add, but feel free to strike up a conversation with me. I can be quiet, but I'm a good listener and a deep thinker - and I don't bite.
Why are you here?
I am here because in my area, I know of no (open) atheists. I still live with my parents (I do plan on moving out as soon as possible, for the record), and they will not accept me for my beliefs. I haven't told them, but I know for a fact that they won't. Just looking for some people to talk to, and maybe finding some in my area so I don't feel like such an outcast.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
Never liked it, to be honest. I prefer logic to faith. Granted, I do get those moments of 'hopefulness' but I don't associate them with a belief, if that makes sense. I'm fed up with the conflict that religion causes. I am not offended if someone believes, I just wish that people could be open-minded about it. I left my religion due to a combination of not having interest, not believing it, and not liking the idea of shunning others for being different.
