What atheism feels like

"I don't know what this means. It looks like a clone sticking his head out of a box. I cannot connect this imagery with anything. I would say atheism feels like being not guilty, meaning there is no feeling until someone accuses you of something."

How do they explain this little piece of magic?

I'm also given to wonder how a god of infinite age, no beginning or end, manages to intervene and make his presence known for about 3000 years, over and over and over again kicking folks around, knocking up virgins and sacrificing his only kid, falls completely silent.

How tough would it be for god to send out a mass email to every computer on… Continue

Posted on September 18, 2009 at 9:35am 13 Comments

Suppose you got two hours with the pope in a one on one. US Presidents don't get that, but this is imagine.

You are brilliantly devastating and absolutely convince him that his church is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on earth, ever!

Now what? Does he resign? and walk away? Does he instruct the down command to dismantle everything, sell all the good stuff and turn the proceeds over to science, research, and distribution of food and medicine to the needy?
