- I've been an open and unapologetic Atheist since I was around seven or eight, and I still spend a lot of time thinking about what that really means for me, and what I believe. I think it would be great to talk to some potentially like-minded people.

- I never really felt like I had an honest belief in god. My auntie told me about him, and so did my stepmom's mother, but one was a Christian and the other was a Jehovah's Witness. I don't know how to explain it, exactly, but none of it made much sense.
I think the real turning point, though, was shortly after my grandfather's death, hearing my father and stepmom talking between themselves about how it could have been avoided had my grandmother not been against blood transfusions. Her religion had killed him, because he would rather have died than live without her, and she would have left him had he got the transfusion. It wasn't even his faith.
I thought a lot about it after that. I talked to a lot of family members because my "faith" had been shaken. They all told me that, if I looked inside of myself, I'd know the truth. Well, the truth is, I never found anything. I kept trying, up until a couple of years ago. There's never been anything there except a certainty that there is no god.

I'm struggling a lot, lately, with this idea of respect. Specifically, respecting other people's beliefs. Which is something that I'm often called on to do, and that honestly makes me feel like a big liar. Because I don't respect anyone's religious belief, if it includes a God (or several). I find it silly and liken it to mental illness. But, to be respectful, I'm supposed to say "well, it's cool if you want to worship an invisible man in the sky, I totally respect your decision to do…
