HOW WE CHOOSE

The topic of "free will" is basically how we chose. After pursuing this forever here is a brief summary of hundreds articles, studies and a cogillion hours of thought.Science has strongly suggested that every organism goes through an implicit "decision?" process whenever a non automated/habitual circumstance is stimulated. That is the Organism conjures up the most likely options to the stimulus, apparently predicts which will bring the greatest reward and selects that one. After that behavior…See More

"Not bad Chris. I'm a bit of a more basic thinker than you. To me we are only free to the extent we are aware. As for the matter of free will vs determinism -- what is important is not if there is "free will" or not but that we believe…"

About Me:
I tell my spate of disillusioned friends I'm a "confirmed ignorant" -- which in the guise of open mindedness -- is somewhat true.

I liked your essay on the historical value of the bible and find that if god can part the seas there is just as much likelihood of one eyed and 6 headed monsters.

In reality I find that the fact that 95% of Americans believe in some diety to be proof positive that only 5% of any given (adult?) population are open minded thinkers.

I like deep and spirited discussions. The truth is I like a good confrontation as well as scholarly debates.
