Jeremy Wells replied to Kim Roder's discussion 'How much "better" is atheism really?'
"Science doesn't compete with religion. Science uses experimentation and critical thinking to gain a better understanding of our universe. But the scientific method can be applied to religion. If a religious claim doesn't stand up to…"

Jeremy Wells replied to Kim Roder's discussion 'How much "better" is atheism really?'
"Atheism isn’t a religion or an alternative to religion. Atheism is an outgrowth of mystical beliefs. When we analyze the evidence we realize that it is impossible to have a personal god. Religious texts offer many promises, but none of them…"

Jeremy Wells replied to Tanya Wells's discussion 'Do we need to abandon all moral ideologies because we are atheist?'

This is a letter from the Secular Coalition for America asking President Obama to end religious discrimination from religious organizations that receive government funding. Please visit the link, sign the letter, and ask President Obama to keep his word about eliminating religious/non-theist discrimination.

Petition to remove UNDER GOD from the pledge.

Posted on June 10, 2011 at 10:50pm 18 Comments

There is a petition that has been started for President Obama and Congress to eliminate UNDER GOD from the pledge. The pledge wasn't written with these words in it and there are many people in this country that are being excluded by that statement. The inclusion of this phrase is highly divisive and unnecessary. Removing this statement will not take religious people's false beliefs from them, but it will cease to force non-believing citizens to recite a false claim. If you would like to sign…

Why Am I So Critical of Religion

Posted on June 10, 2011 at 9:20am 9 Comments

So I got home this evening and had this email on my Facebook. Recently I have become more vocal in my criticism of religion and promotion of Separation of Church and State. Apparently it didn't go over to well with my mom, which is weird because I am 31 and haven't lived at home in over 12 years.

Hey, bud -you might want to tone down your Atheistic and anti-religious comments. You definitely have a right to your own opinion and I'm not trying to interfere with your beliefs or…

National Atheism Awareness Day

Posted on June 8, 2011 at 12:06am 28 Comments

There are millions of atheists that find it difficult to publicly express their desire for rational thought in a country filled with credulous believers. The Christian majority definitely doesn’t provide an environment conducive to doubt, but it is time for freethinkers to create a community of support for other like minded people. How do we ever hope to see change in this country if we don’t unite? There have been many great organizations that have stepped up and fought to enact legislation… Continue
