This character in Christian mythology has a bad rap. It so foolish that grown men and women believe and fear the devil. Facepalm. Despite the fiction, I’ve been thinking recently…..Is/was the devil…Continue

'The Hitch'- Christopher Hitchens documentary

"WOW, I didn't realize this was done by someone from TA! I found it on Top Documentaries, and I watched it over the weekend. It is an OUTSTANDING tribute to Hitch. You may have a future in documentary film making. Seriously."

Your Religious Status
Why are you here?
Because I'm bewildered and nervous on how so many people I know believe in the spaghetti monster. Its like I'm living in the Twilight Zone. Actually I am not friends with any atheist. I'd like to be.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
Easter Morning. I was six years old. I noticed the candy and treats in my Easter basket (that the "Easter Bunny" had brought) was the exact candy and treats that I found in my parent's kitchen cabinet. My parents were to lazy to even hide the candy wrappers. Then it hit me. Theres no Easter Bunny, no Santa Clause, no Tooth Fairy, no Jesus, no Hell or Heaven, and no God. All because my parents were to lazy to hide candy wrappers. Thanks Mom and Dad !

Article - First Amendment column: Lawmakers re-ignite religion school wars

Emphasis on “could”. Actually reading the bible… page by page – could be very effective in the de-conversion process. Ok evangelicals… we will allow the Bible to be taught in public…

I think we should take a different approach….

(For the American members)

Instead of protesting or arguing against the pledge’s -“one nation under god” or the “in god we trust” on our US currency, or the “so help me god” in our oath… … we should allow it. We should allow it under one circumstance.

That the word “god” be clarified. “god” is vague. Which “god”? Out of the thousands of gods that have existed…. To which god are we referring to? If we cannot specify which one – then the clause must be removed.…

NY TIMES ARTICLE - Atheists Seek Chaplain Role in the Military

Great idea, but I don’t think they should be called “chaplains”. They should be called counselors. I applaud Sgt Griffith’s efforts. There should not be any chaplains in the military anyways. When I was in Iraq, the Catholic chaplain had his office right next to mine. I would always look at…
