"I don't know about deity worship per se, but elephants are known to practice certain rituals regarding death. They bury their dead, revisit their graves, etc. As far as I know, this is the furthest non-human animals come to religion."

I like buffalo chicken pizza, rap music, and criticizing religiosity in all it's forms. I also like most other kinds of food, music and science. And chess. And science.
Why are you here?
I am an atheist, and I like to think.
The religion you left
Was never a part of one
Why you left your religion.
My father was a Methodist, for reasons I've never discerned considering everyone else in his family was a Catholic. I was 8 when I realized religion was a large sack of bullshit, and thus never considered myself of a religion to begin with. If we had been raised Catholic, I probably would have rejected it sooner. It wasn't until I was 10 or 11 that I actually admitted to another person, my twin sister, of my lack of belief and how I thought it was all nonsense.
My sisters and I were forced to go to church for a while, but that didn't last long. The last I went to church as a child, I took a huge dump. The last time I ever went to church, I drank my first Four Loko, enjoyed the live performances of Menomena and Suckers (great bands, but you don't need me to tell you that) and also took a large, Loko-infused dump. Then we shambled drunkenly across the city for some Lorenzo's giant-slices-of-pizza-flavored-cardboard. That's a Philly reference.
