How's it going? I'm Isaac. I've been posting here from time to time, but I never formally introduced myself. I've been an atheist since I was 16. I was raised Jewish. I had a Christian friend in high…Continue

About Me:
I'm Isaac. I'm currently an undergrad at UC Berkeley majoring in physics. Science has always been something that I have been interested in, which is why I decided to be a science major. I chose physics because I enjoy math a lot and physics is definitely the most mathematical science, as well as being extremely useful in engineering fields. In addition to science, I enjoy playing music and have been recording music since high school. Music has always been something that I love to do, but I've never really wanted to pursue a career in music, so it's mainly been just a dedicated hobby. I was raised Jewish, and I'm proud of my Jewish heritage.

Why you left your religion.
I realized that some non-physical entity that can physically alter/create the universe doesn't make a lick of sense.

Do We Have Free Will?

Posted on January 28, 2012 at 9:26pm 9 Comments

The question of whether or not free will exists is something that I find fascinating. It is commonly believed that humans do have free will, but is such belief justified? As humans, we are hardwired to have the perception that we have free will. Asking whether or not free will exists is really all about our perceptions and experiences and asking whether or not they are accurate representations of reality. Therefore, we cannot use our perceptions or experiences as evidence for or against free…

Why should I respect religious belief?

Posted on May 31, 2011 at 12:02pm 7 Comments

I put this on my blogspot page awhile ago, but forgot to post it here.

Here in America, lots of religious people like to promote their religious beliefs. Personally, I'm fine with this, seeing as I am not very shy about my atheism. However, just because I respect their right to promote their beliefs, it does not mean that I should necessarily respect the beliefs themselves. Religious people love to show that…

College Student Debunks Homeopathy!

Posted on January 15, 2011 at 1:05pm 2 Comments

Of all the forms of alternative medicine, homeopathy seems to take the cake as the most irrational and logic defying. The primary principle of homeopathy is that heavily diluting a substance in water makes the active ingredient more potent. Homeopathic "medicine" is really just very expensive water. Here is an experiment that I thought of that tests the validity of the principles of homeopathy. It can be performed at your average college party. Pour a few shots of vodka or other hard liquor…

Examining the Wedge: Is Intelligent Design Actually Science?

Posted on March 2, 2010 at 8:30pm 0 Comments

This was an essay for my college English class.

The origins of life have been debated and discussed for millennia. Ancient cultures, such as the Greeks, had their creation myths. Modern religion still supports using mythology based on a literal interpretation of scripture as a valid explanation for how life came to be. For the last one hundred and fifty years, the scientific community has supported evolution as the best explanation of how life came to be. However, there has been… Continue

I saw that you're studying physics. What physics are you most interested in? I'm going to major in astrophysics. :)
