- I was an adolescent when I stopped going to church. My parents were christians. I considered myself a christian when I was a child, but I really didn't know what I wanted and so, even though I left a social network of christians, I really never was a christian myself. I stopped believing in santa claus, gremlins, ghosts, and magic shortly before I stopped believing in gods. That was over 14 years ago.

My primary goal is to establish a lucrative writing career within a few years so that I can work from home; circumstances dictate that I will need to be home to care for a loved on within the coming years. - Thanks! I'm so excited to move to Austin; I'm close enough to hear about all the music festivals on the radio, but not close enough to feasibly attend any of them (my weekends are devoted to homework). I'm generally not much of an urbanite, but Austin is not just another concrete jungle; in fifteen minutes you can be out in the country and the city itself is riddled with parks. Plus, there is the Atheist Community of Austin which hosts monthly lectures and weekly meetings. It will be nice to talk to some other freethinkers and such in person. :)
