About Me:
I am a graduate student at Purdue University. My thesis is to cover the role of fungi the mobility of beryllium within the soil column. I've got a lot of learning to do on these subjects, but it will be worth it. This is a new look at a soil dating scheme that will be quite useful in geoarchaeology and Quaternary geology.

That being said, I'm sure you can tell I'm passionate about my studies. The rest of my life is filled with playing with my cats, reading books (Prachett is my favourite), cooking, walking, bike riding, hiking, and botany. I like other stuff too, but these things make my priority list when I have free time.

I'm positively addicted to tea. My other vices: I'm also an unrepentant bibliophile, have a daily craving for dark chocolate, and love learning. I also have decided to start my own R&D company. Things are going slow, but it is what takes over my life. (If you're interested in checking out what I'm doing so far, go to my website at

Why you left your religion.
I was never part of a religion, but there are many reasons for that. Someday I'll get around to either explaining it in detail, or you can just ask reasonable, non-accusatory questions to find out.

Hey Grace, I read an article you published on AAAS, "Trials of teaching social ethics in sciences." I loved it and didn't see a way to send you a message, so google landed me on your account here, which hasn't been used in several years.

But I figured it couldn't hurt to drop you a note and let you know that I really appreciated your article.

It reminded me a bit of something I wrote a while back that might interest you:

Anyway, thanks for that article!

Thanks for the comment and the friend add. I'm just trying to connect with some local, like minded people. I'm hopeful that maybe we could get a small group together for mutual support from time to time. Sometimes it seems we non-believers are left to wander alone, but then, I think the believers would prefer us that way, instead of forming groups for strength and support the way they do.

Thanks for accepting the friendship request.
