I couldn't make myself believe in a god who's only book held an account of creation which according to everything we know is fundamentally wrong; I couldn't convince myself to believe the flood really happened the way it was recorded as happening; Holes kept appearing in my belief, and no matter how I tried, I could not fill them. Once I realized that parts of the bible were completely false, I couldn't accept the rest of it as fact anymore without evidence to support it.
