Punishment for the long-lived/undying

Sometimes you hear about murderers being sentenced to hundreds or more years imprisonment for their crimes. As far as I understand, this is done so that factors that would lower the sentence are taking into account for the entire sentence, and not for just the time for 'life in prison', which would only be 40-60 years on average. But what if you have a society that doesn't die of old age? Atheist, Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic
About Me:
I'm a christian on the last possible brink of christianity and believing. And since I've recently went through the Thoraic scripture again, I don't think I really want to praise such a god either.
On a more positive note, I've recently graduated on Chemical Engineering and I'm enjoying a bit of free time until I have a job.
Update: status changed to atheist.
Age
25-30
Why are you here?
As mentioned in the 'About me': It's not even much of a contest anymore, but I would like to be able to talk with some people in the same predicament (most of my friends are fully believing christians).
