"The Wormhole" First Impressions?

Posted on June 10, 2010 at 12:30am 4 Comments

The first episode in "The Wormhole" series with Morgan Freeman aired tonight. I am interested to hear some of the impressions of people on this site. I thought it was pretty interesting overall and I was pleased that they mentioned several explanations to "God" and the "fine-tuning" of our universe (including my touted multiverse theory). According to a study done by USA Today back in early 2009 that compares religiosity in America at the present and in 1990, all religious denominations have seen a decline in… Continue

Posted on December 27, 2009 at 11:48pm 8 Comments

The human brain is a fantastic piece of hardware that can run countless calculations at once and analyze both short and long term situations and consequences. An interesting theory was posed in my elective philosophy class (before winter break) about the very nature on understanding death. My professor told us that it is impossible for the human mind to mentally comprehend "death" because death itself is the absence of consciousness, the absence of calculated thought processes that form what we… Continue
