The Singular Prime Mover

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 1:40pm 14 Comments

This will be short. Look at this argument:

Nature is so beautiful and complex; the planets in our solar system, and our solar system in our galaxy, and our galaxy in the universe all fit and work together so well that it cannot possibly have happened by chance - there must have been a creator.

I want to know why Christians, or any other monotheist, thinks this is a good argument in favor of their position. Obviously, because they've used the singular form of…

Accept My Choices

I just picked up this quote from an article in the Advocate online magazine, and I feel like I really need to say a couple of things. But first, here's the quote:

"Why parade your unnatural immoral behaviors before the rest of us? I/we do not have to…

Oh My God

As an atheist, I don't believe in any sort of supreme, all-knowing, benevolent, god-like being. I'm sure you all knew that already, but it's good to clarify.

Hello Elizabeth,

If you would like to become familiar with philosophy of religion, I highly recommend William Rowe's Philosophy of Religion: An Introduction followed by John Shook's The God Debates. Both of those are excellent introductions written by atheist philosophers to the debate between theists and naturalists. By the end of reading these books, you will be more literate than 99% of the country. If you want more firepower just against Christianity, you must read (ed) John Loftus' The Christian Delusion
