Hello, everyone!

My name is Dustin, and I'm what Nelson would consider an agnostic atheist. I believe there are no gods based on a lack of evidence, but I leave open the potential for evidence to be presented. I am a six on Dr. Dawkins's scale of theism.I came here to meet other atheists and participate in civil and open discussion on the topic. I discovered this site from a comment on PZ Myer's blog Pharyngula. I occassionally post there under the pseudonym…See More

Dustin C. replied to Jordan J. T. Braun's discussion 'Religion, Faith and Atheism... does one necesitate the other?'
"I truly understand where you're coming from, as I went through this phase, as well. My deconversion story is very similar to Johhny's. But that's not what you want to know. There is harm in believing in a god without religion just as…"

Dustin C. replied to CJoe's discussion 'Positvely Misguided: The Myths & Mistakes of the Positive Thinking Movement'
"I, too, enjoyed the article and your response. I note, however, that you appear to suggest there are only two extremes of attitude: postive and negative. I would either add at least a third attitude (realistic) or establish degrees of positivity and…"

Profile Information

Your Religious Status
Why are you here?
I'm looking to connect with like-minded individuals. I have no atheist friends, so I have to find them on the Internet.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
I left because it makes no reasonable sense for some sort of omnipotent being to exist now, then, or ever. We have explained away every gap that a deity used to fill using science. Why should I believe?
