I was raised without any conviction, so I guess I could say Agnostic. When I hit 18 a gotten-out-of-hand discussion got me into Christianity (Presbyterianism) which took me two months to get out of. Nowadays I'm an anti-Theist as Christopher Hitchens described and consider myself a Rationalist. I solved the Absurd by means of Existentialism.
My main occupation is studying English to become a teacher. In my spare time, which is generally a lot, I am a medic for the Netherlands Red Cross, a scoutsleader and cubscoutleader and have recently started a career with the COC, the oldest gay rights movement in the Netherlands. Before I started studying English I attained a degree in Civil Engineering, since I love the field but not the education, I hope to return to it someday.
Why are you here?
Dicuss with fellow Atheists, perhaps repel some barbarians who got caught up here. So mainly for the forum, though I bet this could be a good Atheist news resource.
Trolls don't deserve an Internet life.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
Jesus wanted to make me straight, which is something I couldn't agree with.
