Why you left your religion.
I went through a long period of having questions but being afraid to do the research to find answers because of the fear of hell in my mind and all the little doctrines I had been taught over the years against questioning the "truth". I kept peeking into this ebook I got until I gave up and let myself read it. It is "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins that launched me off into my search for answers. I was an atheist, not an agnostic or deist, before I finished his book...My views often didn't fit in with a particular denominational doctrine. I was always pro choice and I am a scientist with a background in microbiology and genetics among other things so evolution is a given belief for me. I have understood the ignorance in my past religion's doctrinal teachings but the brainwashing since childhood makes it so hard to break loose from. I am so glad I finally did but I regret how much of my life was wasted and in some ways ruined by a fairytale delusional dreamworld existence....
