Religion never sat well with me since I was a kid. I was even an alter boy. Did all the benediction stuff. I was even hauled off to "Healing Masses". Never fell down like the others thou.
In the early 90's I had an opportunity to travel abroad with a church group to strengthen my 'faith'.
So on my trip to Magigoria we went to mass many times a day. And at night they kept us up with these prayer vigils. At one of those night prayer vigils some poor boy had an asthmatic attack. He was gasping for air (By the way we were having a healing mass) Everyone thought the vigil was ridding him of a demon. Everyone prayed. Even me. I'm just glad one of the adults found his inhaler. It wasn't the priest.
While there (to find my faith again) I hiked the mountain, blooding my feet to find any sign of faith. I even confessed my sins to one of the priests that accompanied us to later find out he was one of those pedophiles that the church kept moving around. Thanks for that.
After my trip I starting going to mass every day. That ended when I missed going to mass on a Sunday and chocked up another mortal sin. How can I win?
