My problem is that I never understood what girls and boys were necessarily supposed to do. I never fit in or behaved correctly. The biggest messup that probably saved my gender identity is not understanding the difference beyond organs. The spectrum is a funny thing like that. But I'm glad you've got it all figured out. Also, don't mind my fiance Salvatore, he's a firecracker. :)

I don't myself deal with gender identification problems. I used to identify strongly with males, even to the point I felt alien in my own body, but for some reason after I had a child and adopted Taoist views on life, I sort of let that go. I allow my masculine traits to live in harmony with my feminine ones. But I know that's not a choice for most people struggling with the problem. I am going through something myself with being underway in an official diagnosis to finally pin down that I am on the Autism spectrum, and the knowledge that there was always a reason that went unknown as to why I never fit in and never said the right thing is absolutely liberating for me. Now I feel like I can pursue anything with that knowledge behind me to back me up and get help for the problems I have. The increasing support I get from my in laws is helping as well. For me, that's my rebirth, combined with my daughter coming into the world and giving me a much more rational and gritty view of how the world works, because I need to look at it completely settled in reality to see it for what it is.
