I am 46, and acknowledged my atheism about ten years ago although I feel I've really been an atheist since childhood. I am happily married (to a theist) and mother of two young adults, an 18-year-old daughter and 20-year-old son. They are freethinkers but have not declared atheism (at least not yet). I am a staff member at a local technical college - I handle the conference center events and continuing education programs there.
Born and raised in North Georgia, USA, heart of the Bible Belt.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
While raised in a home of two theistic (Christian - loosely Southern Baptist) parents, we did not go to church. I was suspicious of many religious doctrines from a young age and, as an adult, began researching Christianity and other world religions. My conclusion was that it is ALL mythology. Thus, a new atheist was born. :-)

I hear you on the weekday time crunch; most of my T|A browsing is on the weekend. Every Sunday morning there are two great recurring posts by Johnny and Nelson chock full of interesting links and articles. Look for Sunday Morning Service by Johnny and Sunday School by Nelson on the blog page.) I'm convinced that there is no better way to spend a Sunday morning than reading those two blogs with a nice big mug of coffee! :)
